April 2008 FLAG BOOKS & PHOTOGRAPHY

Please join us!
Thursday April 3, 2008
6:00-8:00pm
Program: We will make a flag book that incorporates photography
Cost: $10.00
* * * RSVP by Monday March 31 to mlight@printingmuseum.org

Long time Houston Book Arts member Darcy Curtin will be our presenter

What to Bring

  • Scissors or cutting mat, straight edge and knife
  • Pencil
  • Bone folder
  • Optional: Stamp positioner, or other t-square-like tool (if you have one, bring it, but don't go out and buy one just for this ;-)

What We'll Do

This is a fairly time-consuming technique, so we're going to concentrate on the layout and flag-to-spine assembly. Each kit will have two sets of flags for the same image (several different images to choose from, first come first served!) so that you can prepare two samples that show a "left flop" and a "right flop." The results can be dramatically different, even though the contents are the same.
