Ever wonder how those elaborate pop-up books are created?
Join us as Bruce Foster, paper engineer behind more than 30 pop-up books
explains the process from conception to assembly in China, including a few hands-on hints on how you can make your own pop-ups! Bruce has been very busy this year and will be releasing several books this fall, including:
In the Beginning, the Book of Genesis, by Chuck Fischer
Sammy's Suitcase, a new children's title from Random House
The Spirit, A PopUp Graphic Novel, for DC Comics
Nick Jr's Pop Up Songs
And an elaborate set of 12 artistic pop-ups based on the work of some of today’s leading artists and photographers, published as a special limited-edition offering from one of New York’s leading fashion magazines.
And including peeks at the process of designing the pop-ups seen in the hit
Walt Disney film, Enchanted, as well as recent best sellers, Christmas
Around the World, The Pop Up Book of Celebrity Meltdowns, and Christmas at
the Zoo! And see some surprises of upcoming works being released next year!
Bruce is a 25 year resident of Houston, working with publishers on both
coasts and around the world.
